Lakengren Dragons. A Lakengren property owner named Jack Block organized the Dragons in 1979. Their main objective is to be a helpful group of men doing what they can to preserve and improve Lakengren, so that all may be proud of this community. Some volunteer efforts include repairing docks, assembling picnic tables, lighting up the front entrance, repairing the guardhouse, building a golf driving range, and organizing/participating in semi-annual Road Clean Up Days. They also sponsor the Annual Jack Block Fun Day in July and co-sponsor the Ham & Bean Dinner in March.

Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. A social hour follows each regular meeting. For further information you may call Dan McElwee at 456-5319

Dragons Annual Veterans' Dinner Planned
The Dragons Club is sponsoring their Annual Veterans' Day Dinner on their regular meeting night of Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.at the Valhalla Lodge.
All Lakengren veterans of America's Armed Forces are invited to a free dinner along with their spouse or significant other to this special meal. Also invited are widows of veterans. The cost for the dinner for non-veterans is $5.00 per person.
All persons who would like to attend this dinner, including Dragon members, must make reservations by calling Dan McElwee, Dragon president at 456-5319 by Friday, November 6, 2009. Reservations are a must so that enough dinners are prepared. Pot roast with vegetables, green beans, salad and a beverage are the menu. The spouses of the Dragons will provide desserts.
