DRAGONS
In fall 1979, Manager Jack Block initiated the Dragons.
Purpose: Make Lakengren a more desirable place to live through such programs and projects as promoting fellowship and recreation.
DRAGONS COMPLIED BY:

Annual “Road & Shoreline Clean Up”
Helped install ,remodel, or build lampposts at the Mall & Lodge, the Richard Wysong Shelter, Lodge kitchen and baths, docks, Marina bathrooms, picnic tables, ball diamond, sand volley ball court.
Original Dragons would do odd jobs at residences and payment was put into treasury.
Donated yearly to: Egg Hunt, Kids Fishing Contest, Ski Club, Needy families,
Donated $1,200 for new tile in Lodge, $1,000 for concrete picnic tables, $950 for wooden picnic tables, $800 to fill in Lodge’s pit, $400 of concrete for lamppost bases, $294 for new pool shed.
Painted Huff & Puff, fences, bath rooms, anything not moving.
Provided: Free swimming lessons for kids.
Free dinner for Veterans on Veterans Day. Two flag poles and American flags for Gasper Township Fire House and Lakengren dam.
Only Failure: Cannot get enough Boats to participate in Jack Block “Pass In Review.”
Dragon Plaque: Located in the Lodge and lists deceased Dragons.
Hal Yoder is our beloved, senior member and historian and can relate the “Story of the Dragons.”
Today, you can meet “LOGAN” our new Lakengren Dragon Mascot donated by the Dragons for Lakengren events and parades.
